GOLF PROFESSIONAL

Dave Fusco

Dave Fusco started playing golf at the age of 12 in his Hudson Valley hometown of
Monroe, New York. As a promising young talent, he quickly found his place on the
varsity golf team at Monroe Woodbury High School. Dave’s passion for golf led him to playing for the State University of New York at Delhi before transferring to Ramapo College, where he excelled as a golfer for the Roadrunners. It was in 1988 that he made the leap to claim his professional status.

As an amateur golfer and student athlete, Dave’s talent shone brightly. He was a two time Orange County High School Champion golfer in 1984 and 1985. During his college years, Dave’s prowess earned him victory in three invitational tournaments, qualification for the NJCAA National Championship, and an Honorable Mention in the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament. Notably, in 1986, he became the youngest player to secure a win in the Times Herald Record Men’s Amateur tournament.

Dave’s dedication and exceptional playing ability did not go unnoticed, and in 1998, he achieved a significant milestone by earning his membership in the Professional Golf Association (PGA) of America. Before arriving at Osiris Country Club, Dave honed his skills and knowledge through various roles at several metropolitan area golf courses like Ridgewood (NJ) Country Club, Orange County Golf Club, and Spook Rock Golf Course. In 1996, he reached new heights in his career, becoming the Head Golf Professional at the Philip J. Rotella Golf Course in Thiells, New York. Later, in 2003, he was appointed as the Director of Golf at Patriot Hills Golf Club, where he served for over two decades.

Throughout his professional career, Dave remained a prominent figure in the
Metropolitan area’s golf scene. His name found its way onto several tournament winner  lists, and he achieved a feat held by the legendary Ben Hogan and Claude Harmon  victory in the Westchester Open, triumphing in both 2001 and 2003. Notably, he qualified for four National Club Professional Championships and one Senior National Club Professional Championship.

Dave’s passion for golf extends beyond his personal achievements. An active member of the Metropolitan (MET) Section PGA, he actively contributes to the growth of the game. Currently, he serves as the  Chairperson of  the Nominating Committee and has previously held roles on the Board of Governors and as a member and Chairperson of  the MET PGA  tournament committee. In recognition of his exceptional work, Dave earned the title of Merchandiser of the Year in 2013.

Beyond the greens, Dave enjoys his family life, residing in Goshen, New York, alongside his wife, Marguerite, and their dog, Willow. He takes immense pride in his children, Collin, Kayleigh, and Noelle.
